Date and time
Women’s Tech Hub is proud to present a one day conference in collaboration with UWE Bristol and a Tech Career fair
About this event
Women’s Tech Hub is proud to present a one day conference in collaboration with UWE Bristol. Rather than it being a conference for people in the field, this is a conference for people interested in Data Science and learning what it’s about, how to get into it and how to transfer into the field.
For Tickets you can choose morning, afternoon or all day for the conference. Please book seperately for a dedicated slot to speak to the companies, we will mail you to discuss times. There will be a chance for people attending the conference without career tickets to take any free slots to speak to the companies where possible

Who
- This is for anyone interested in Data.
- It’s for people wanting to find out more – not for the specialists. It’s about showcasing people in the industry that work in it and love it.
- It’s about discussing what it’s about and what it could be.
- It’s about the ethics of it and whether it’s something for you.
We’re reaching out to:
- Anyone who has previously studied in a related subject
- Anyone who has spent years working with data – (and yes this includes excel spreadsheets)
- Anyone who wants to translate from another discipline with an interest in data
- Anyone who just wants to find out more
- Anyone who has done research that involved data (large or complex)
- Anyone who wants to fix the world’s issues
The Career fair
Not all of the companies recruiting will be data science-related – they are looking for software and hardware engineers as well as anything else in tech and offer training also. So if Data isn’t your thing then pop along to find out more about the industry or talk jobs with the local companies.
We will be running it on 15-minute intros so if you are looking for work it is worth bringing your CV for the companies – we’ll be introducing you by name and interest only. You get a chance to speak to them about opportunities. This is for anyone looking to get into/return to the industry, get a job, and people just interested in finding out more and speak directly to the companies. They will speak to you and you won’t get ignored which is common in other recruitment fairs.
