Outline 

Session 1:
The Big Data Economy - what is it and where did it come from?

Where to find your data and where to put it: Google Analytics, SQL

What is it useful for: Marketing Attribution

Understanding Customer Journeys, setting pricing

A/B testing and experimentation versus data mining

statistical fallacies and bad data

effective communication and interpretation of data

understanding and communicating uncertainty


Session 2:
Getting meaning out of data - Statistics for business

conditionality, correlation and causation

frequentist versus bayesian statistics

A little R with some exciting visualisations using ggplot package

brief summary of machine learning methods - regression, decision trees, anomoly detection and text processing

Meet your Instructor:

Abigail Lebrecht is Principal Analyst at uSwitch, where she focuses on using statistical and machine-learning techniques for descriptive analytics and modeling to understand customer behavior. She has been working in Data Science for over 5 years and provided training courses in R and statistics and spoken at numerous professional Data Science conferences. Abigail has a background in probability and statistics and is passionate about encouraging an understanding of uncertainty in both big and small data. She holds a PhD in queueing theory from Imperial College London.
