The Alan Turing Institute and University Of Warwick are delighted to invite you to the launch event of Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) Summer Internship Program co-hosted by these institutes from 3rd June 2019 to 28th August 2019. The Data Science for Social Good Fellowship is University of Chicago’s flagship summer program successfully running from year 2013 that aspires to train data scientists from across the world whilst working closely with governments and non-profits organisations tackling real-world problems in education, health, energy, public safety, transportation and more using cutting edge Data Science technology.

The launch event will be an opportunity to gather the program overview and engage with the participants of the summer fellowship that constitute 20 fellows, two technical mentors, two project managers, and the academic organising team whose experience ranges from being a Data scientists, Data Science Consultants, PhD students in Data Science, Project Managers in Data Science space, Data Science academics and so on. Furthermore, there will be prospects to engage with the challenge owners (a range of public, private and third sector partners) who have set up the data challenges for the Fellows to work and solve during the span of 12 weeks summer program. There will be time for networking, and we invite you to share knowledge, skills and expertise with the challenge teams so that they can call on you if needed during their time working on these problems.

The Alan Turing Institute is located on the first floor of the British Library and can be accessed via the main doors from 9:30 onwards. Please allow 10 minutes for queuing when planning your journey.
