Data is a hot topic these days, particularly our own personal information.

In June, u3a members in the Nottingham area took part in an exclusive data debate with the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The Office for National Statistics is the UK’s largest independent producer of official statistics. The event was a fantastic opportunity for members to tell ONS their thoughts about how and when they share their personal information.

u3a members were asked:

  • how they feel about sharing their data
  • whether they think twice before sharing their data
  • if they think it is fair for companies to ask for their data
  • if they think data can be used for the greater good
  • what would make them feel safer when sharing their data

The ONS will soon be releasing a report and video content about the day on their website to encourage others to continue this important debate.

Please join us and the ONS at this webinar to hear about the event and find out if you share the perspectives raised by members throughout the day.

There will be an opportunity to ask your questions.
