Data Science and Society: Working in the public sector
Data is influential in shaping the world we live in, the choices we make and the type of goods and services we purchase. The data revolution also means transformational change for the public sector. What could it mean for the delivery of national and local public services? Government collects huge amounts of data, from medical records to care services to waste collection. They capture huge amount of data on service for some of society’s most vulnerable people in society.
Please join us for a discussion with Scotland’s public sector data-leaders to hear more about data science careers and opportunities in national and local government and the NHS. Hear about how you can help Scotland use their data to improve public services to directly improve the lives of ordinary people.
The panel includes:
The Scottish Government
Head of Service
Digital Innovation Manager
The City of Edinburgh Council
THIS IS A STAGE WORKSHOP- It will take place in the main event room.
