“How to be Heard – the Difference between Interesting and Useful”
Hosted by: Aquila Insight
Turning data into insight is only part of the equation. The worst possible fate of a data scientist, analyst or engineer is for their work to be dubbed “interesting”. To be successful in the data world, you need to be effective – the work needs to be “useful”. This workshop will focus on what skills you’ll need to ensure that your work is “useful”, how to get decision makers to listen to you and how to put in minimum effort for maximum returns. All while doing something you love.
Neil Carden is the Commercial Director of Aquila Insight. He was previously a strategy consultant with KPMG and had a Damascene conversion to the world of data and analytics. He’s focused on the deployment of insight – how to make a difference in large, complex organisations through the deployment of actionable insight. Prior to coming back to Edinburgh and joining the UK’s leading analytical solution business, Aquila Insight, he ran MasterCard’s information and analytics business in Europe and was the Insight Director for the Co-operative Group.
** You must have purchased a Data Talent Scotland ticket to attend one of the Masterclass Workshops. If you haven’t purchased a ticket you will not be admitted in to the Data Talent Scotland workshops.
