EDISON Data Science Framework
a European foundation for education, learning and jobs
Opening Data Science to define the professional pathways of the future
The goal of this workshop is to explore the balance between the traditional “hard” skills associated with data analytics etc. and the more forward looking “soft” skills such as empathy and persuasion. What balance is required for the dynamic career profiles needed in the data-driven economy?
The EU-funded EDISON project has identified a range of data science profiles that will be needed, but what combination of complimentary skills will be needed to form the winning teams of tomorrow?
The EDISON Data Science Framework is a collection of documents that define the Data Science profession. Freely available, these documents have been developed to guide educators and trainers, employers and managers, and Data Scientists themselves. This collection of documents collectively breakdown the complexity of the skills and competences need to define Data Science as a professional practice.
Workshop participants will learn about the EDISON Data Science Framework and how it can help define jobs, design courses and enable successful career pathways to be planed out.
