Event description

Description

The Creative Brain – Inspiring Creativity in Early Years

For: All Practitioners

Level: Intermediate

Course length: 6.5 Hours

This course is a vibrant explosion of art, creativity and fun. Art should be on children’s own terms following their own interests in their own way through a variety of engaging media. There are no pre-cut templates, no desperately trying to recreate something an adult has made and ultimately failing; just fun and creative ways to engage in pure unadulterated creativity. The course looks at some of the neuroscience behind creativity and introduces compelling arguments for a process focused approach in early years. The course also looks at the mental health benefits of art and the imagination, and how we can use these both developmentally and therapeutically to improve outcomes for the children in our care. The course is thought-provoking, interactive and fun and contains a wide range of practical experiences to engage and delight our children. Be creative, be inspired and jump over the paintpots!
