We are hosting a golf day with a difference; part educational and part fun, but definitely all golf.
This event has something for everyone, whether you are an avid golfer, or you just want to find out how to benefit from the golf tourism in our area. The aim of the day is to learn about how to utilize the great golfing facilities in Dundee and Angus, and to learn about the upcoming golf events in the area, for you to pass on to your guests and hopefully drive more business your way.
We have teamed up with Carnoustie Country, Angus Council, Dundee City Council and Scottish Enterprise to bring you an informative two part event. The first part is a talk on the business opportunities available to help you target the visitors coming to the area who have an interest in golf. The second part involves is a golf outing. Attendees can take part in both or just the talk should they wish.
10am-12pm – Golf Conference and Continental Brunch
The morning will kick off at 10am, with tea and coffee, followed by talks from Jane Taylor, Sector Officer of Golf at Angus Council and Dennis McFarlane, Industry Relationship Manager from Visit Scotland. Jane will inform DAVAA members about the opportunities around Carnoustie Country, the local golf destination marketing campaign. She will enlighten businesses on how they can get involved and benefit from the activity that Carnoustie Country do. The other key strand of the meeting will be fulfilled by Dennis McFarlane, who will advise members of opportunities around The Open in July 2018. This event also provides a networking framework for golf and accommodation sectors to work more collaboratively together. After the morning talks, a continental brunch will ensure everyone is in good stead for the day ahead!
12pm-4pm – Golfing / Putting
At 12pm we begin the second part of the day for all those who wish to play in the golf competition. Teams of 3 will tackle 18 holes (2 rounds of 9 holes) with a shotgun start. The lucky team will walk away winners of the inaugural DAVAA Cup.
