Description

This practical step-by-step guide covers the basics of budgeting and scheduling for a short film production. Expect plenty of tips on securing locations, crewing up, kit hire & negotiating best deals. Then in the second half of the session you’ll take part in an interactive exercise in managing your own imaginary film shoot!

Tickets are strictly limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis: please book for your chosen session below.

This workshop is led by Gerry Maguire, a Northumbria University graduate and IDI Digital City Fellow withover seven years’ experience developing and producing film. Gerry has produced numerous films both through Pins & Needles Media and as a freelancer, including shorts and numerous feature films.

As Associate Producer he delivered BAFTA and BIFA nominated I Am Nasrine (2012) from director Tina Gharavi. He helped deliver international short film projects including UK-Serbian co-production If You See Maria (2014, dir Ivana Inastasovska), is Executive Producer on micro-budget feature This Is Not Happening (2014, dir Ewan Thomas) and has delivered features such as The Have Nots (2016) and Two Graves (2017) – all of which have been celebrated at festivals internationally.
