If you have never attended a Kickstart Your Business workshop before, please fill out the registration form in advance of the session. This form is crucial for our funding purposes (more detail below). 

 

Delivered by Hustle+Heels, a business community and consultancy that comprises over 20,000 start-ups and business owners across London. 

 

Learn how to set up your business and avoid common start-up pitfalls in this interactive and practical all-day workshop. The topics discussed will include marketing, sales and finance, providing you with a start-up survival kit. By the end of the session, you will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to complete a one-page business plan.

• How to test if your business idea is viable

About your facilitators 

Marta Zukowska is an experienced facilitator with over 20 years' experience in delivering leadership development courses for start-up, trade-up and scale-up businesses. She delivers 1-2-1 business support across Haringey and Barnet, and facilitates the delivery of a range of other business support programmes across London. 

Dwain Reid is a business consultant with over 15 years’ experience delivering workshops, mentoring and coaching people from across the UK. His mentees have appeared on Dragons Den and he has supported others to secure investment. Dwain is also a business owner, which enables him to share his experiences of achievements and pitfalls to inspire others.

These are fully funded programmes. Failure to attend on two separate occasions without prior cancellation will result in you being barred from attending future workshops. Workshop timings

This is a 4 hour full-day workshop which takes place in person. Do arrive promptly before the start of the session to make full use of the support available. There will be comfort breaks, and a lunch break to space out the day. If you have any queries, please contact bipcldn@bl.uk

Eligibility

To take part in the Kickstart Your Business workshops; You should be an aspiring entrepreneur with a business idea you want to develop in London. OR The owner of a business which has been registered at Companies House or a Sole trader based in London.

The Kickstart Your Business workshops are:

  • "Business Research and Information': Protecting what your business does and creates is key to creating value. In this interactive workshop on Intellectual Property, you’ll learn the practical steps you need to take to own and defend new inventions, products and brands. Topics include all you need to know about patents, designs, trademarks and copyright. This workshop also covers the fundamentals of using the BIPC’s and your library’s resources to develop a strategic roadmap for your business. You will be introduced to concepts like the Value Proposition and to tools like the Business Model Canvas, to help you make informed business decisions, plan and offer value to your customer.
  • 'Get Started': In this high energy and practical workshop, you will find out how to set up your business and avoid common start-up pitfalls. By the end of the day, you will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to complete a one page business plan.
