The Day School will introduce Québécois Cinema and explain its importance in Canada and internationally. It will include a full screening of the first feature by the current Cannes favourite, Xavier Dolan, I Killed My Mother (J’ai tué ma mère, 2009). The title is not literal but refers to an adolescent boy’s attempts to come to terms with who he thinks he is. The boy is played by the director.
Tea and coffee will be provided and there are places nearby to buy lunch, although people are welcome to bring their own lunches.
Tickets are £14 and £9 concessions.
