DAY TIME 10 WEEK BEGGINERS PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE

Looking to get out of Auto? This course is perfect for anyone using a DSLR, CSC, Mirrorless, Advanced Compact, Bridge or any Camera with Manual controls. There will be plenty of chances to ask questions (we believe in small group sizes no more than 8) , as well as lots of practical hands on learning on location and from our photography studio.

We are a social friendly bunch and welcome everyone of all backgrounds and experiences,you may not even have a camera (we can lend you one).

With a good mix of theory and practical, we deliver sessions in a fun, enthusiastic and jargon-free style. By the end of the 10 weeks will feel confident controlling your camera and have improved your photographic knowledge, skills and techniques and open your mind to seeing the world in new and exciting ways.

This course is designed for beginners so if you been on one of course before great the content will be different, and if you new to us great stuff! Get ready to learn and have lots of fun. A full introduction to of DSLR cameras we be given.

We keep the course numbers small to offer you a bespoke experience and plenty of one to one tuition.

This course is hosted by Community Photographic Studios Plympton and Run by Award winning artist and photographer Jamie House.Jamie is a qualified and experienced Tutor with a PGCE and teaches nationwide.

To date Jamie`s work has been featured in publications and exhibitions worldwide and he has talked at the photographers gallery London about hs work.

Light understand the colour and behavior of light (natural, artificial, direction, shape, form and quality) explore the exposure traingle to get the perfect shot
Camera settings explore basic settings and commands on DSLR cameras using aperture,shutter and ISO
Lenses learn about lens selection, back focusing,accessories and fine adjustment of your lens and focusing and get the chance to use some of our specialist lenses.
Advanced Focus learn about hyperfocal distance and how to take sharp images of still or moving objects using live view and the optical viewfinder
Accessories learn about camera accessories which can enhance photographs including reflectors, diffusers,flags,and light shapers using studio flash and continious light.
Composition-Learn about the rules of thirds,line,shape,volume and much more
White Balance understand how to achieve correctly colour balanced images
Exposure all exposure techniques covered including exposure bracketing, exposure compensation and the magic triangle dynamics
Flash how to achieve greater images using your flashgun / speedlite and the chance to use our powerful elichrome quadra flash kit and backgrounds to construct a studio on location
Studio- Use basic flash lighting set-ups in a professionally equipped photography studio with an infinity cove for portraits or larger group shots and another specialist product studio.Learn how to photograph objects and portraits to a competent standard.
Filters understand the effects and appropriate use of different filters for different types of photography (fashion, portrait, landscape etc.)
File sizes-Learn the difference between JPG and Raw and how to size and process for print and web
Portraits-Learn how to take stunning portraits in a variety of lighting conditions
Landscape-Lean to get landscape images with a professional edge
Low light night photography-Use long exposure times to capture photographs at night.
Macro-Capture small objects and make them appear larger than life
