Event description
Cardiff Seren Poetry Festival 2021 Daydreams & Jellybeans: Alex Wharton - a free Poetry Workshop for children aged 7-11

About this Event

From forgotten jellybeans to sparking daydreams, Alex’s poems, written for primary school age children, are both funny and thoughtful, and aim to spark familiarity and inclusion. We’ll screen-share some of the illustrations from Katy Riddell which focus on the fun and dreamlike quality of the poems’ engagement with the natural world. These poems use rhyme, rhythm and free verse and are ideally suited to performance, nurturing a love of language, reading, confidence and self-expression. Participants will be encouraged to write their own poems. Children are asked to bring pen, paper and their imaginations!

Note: Tickets will come off sale one hour before the start of this event. A link will be emailed to attendees by a member of the festival staff before the event begins.
