Event description

Description

There are two speakers who will give us the benefit of their experiences in major projects.

Jurgen Koch of 4 Green Architecture is passionate about distinctive architecture designed through a holistic approach with energy efficiency and innovative green technologies that combine the use of daylight and other kinds of renewable energy, ecology, flexibility, economy, profitability and sustainability taking a holistic urban context into account. He will discuss these factors, taking as exemplars two multiple award-winning projects: the Deloitte Headquarters, the Spherion Building in Dusseldorf; and the multiple the REWE supermarket in Berlin, the worldwide first CO2-neutral Supermarket with daylight and highest DGNB certification.

Laura Philips of Buro Happold will discuss the realities of delivering daylight projects on site, as well as the theory and design studies. In addition she will describe some interesting modelling and parametric tools in response to climate based analysis and talk us through some examples of direct sunlight modelling and filtering using various tools to allow more natural light into buildings, particularly in the context of the Louvre Abu Dhabi that has just finished on site.

The session will commence at 2.00 pm, with a break in mid-afternoon, and will finish after 4.30 pm but before 5.00 pm.
