This series of exclusive events is specifically for you to join with other members in your local area and discuss important business topics. The event is free to DBA members but spaces are limited and you must register in advance.
In the first of a series of national events, we’ll be delving into the topic of succession planning and future-proofing your business.
Even if nobody is considering leaving the business, it’s crucial for you to think about the future. You’ll maximise the value of your membership; come and exchange your views with fellow design business owners; hear from the DBA and the speakers we’ve got lined up for you.
Join us at this free DBA member only event to tackle this topic. This is your opportunity to meet the DBA team, network with fellow DBA members, and hear from Merle Hall and Craig Wightman from Kinneir Dufort on their practical experiences of succession planning.
We’re going to be focusing on:

- How to start thinking about the future.
- Key considerations when planning your business structure.

Merle Hall joined Kinneir Dufort in 2009, and has brought a wealth of design consultancy knowledge in strategy and branding across Product and Pack focusing on FMCG and Consumer sectors.
Merle’s 16 years of design consultancy experience has been focused towards best practice in strategically creating, challenging and developing brands to deliver genuine differentiation, optimisation and insight-driven commercial results, working with clients such as Beiersdorf, Unilever, Coca Cola and Shell.
Craig Wightman has 30 years’ experience in design and, having had previous spells in design consultancy and manufacturing industry, has been Design Director at Kinneir Dufort since 1997.
With an enviable track record of international client success and awards recognition. Kinneir Dufort integrate Research, Innovation, Design and Development, balancing creative and technical expertise, helping companies deliver successful new products and brand experiences.
A highly experienced design consultant, Craig works closely with companies and organisations of all sizes, including global corporations, SMEs, business start-ups, spin-outs and entrepreneurs. Areas of focus include design management and strategy, healthcare and medical devices, consumer products, packaging and fast-moving consumer goods, business-to-business and industrial products.
We call this “in-sourcing.” Chris and his team have worked with many companies over the past 10 years to help improve their financial performance, not only by processing day to day data but also improving processes and commercial awareness throughout the company. This approach ensures high quality information and therefore better decision making at the top level.
Chris has also helped various companies through acquisition processes including writing business summaries, due diligence, negotiations and integrations.
