Overview

Developing and Maintaining a Collaborative Approach to safeguarding. Raising awareness of Barring referrals and the Legal Duty to Refer.

DBS Faith in Safeguarding: Pop-up Clinics for Faith organisations and networks within the South East of England .

We invite you to our "DBS Faith in Safeguarding: Pop-up Clinics" event, which aims to strengthen and maintain a collaborative approach to safeguarding vulnerable groups including adults in the South East.

Come along to these in person events and meet your DBS Regional Outreach Adviser Kelly Matthews. This is your opportunity to find out about the support that Kelly and the DBS can provide to your organisation, and how we can work together to safeguard vulnerable groups.

DBS helps safeguard society by providing relevant information and making barring decisions to aid safer recruitment and employment. To do this, we rely on employers and organisations making barring referrals and sharing information with us when they have concerns that an individual has harmed a child or vulnerable adult, or they pose a future risk of harm to children or vulnerable adults.

Join us on Wednesday 17th December 2025, from 09:30 – 12:00, at the Ibis Southampton Centre, 9 West Quay Road, Southampton, SO15 1RA.

This is your opportunity to learn more about Barring referrals including when there is a legal duty to refer, how to submit quality referrals to DBS, and opportunity to ask questions of DBS colleagues.

For queries or accessibility requirements, contact DBSEngagement@dbs.gov.uk.

This event will be in English.

We look forward to seeing you there!
