DBS Harmful Behaviour Outside of the Workplace

Explore how harmful behaviour displayed outside work/voluntary settings may impact upon safeguarding and could lead to someone being included in a barred list and hear about other types of harm that may be less well known but should still be considered for referral to DBS.

The workshop will cover –

  • What we mean by ‘harmful behaviour’
  • Safeguarding, Abuse and Neglect
  • Relevant Conduct and Risk of Harm
  • Harmful behaviour and the transferability of risk
  • How to make a barring referral to DBS

Please note we cannot discuss individual cases during the session.

If you are an organisation who has a large number of individuals and you would like to attend a workshop, please contact dbsregionaloutreach@dbs.gov.uk and we can arrange providing direct support.

If you are a member of the public and would like more information about the child/adult barred list please see gov.uk/dbs or contact Customer Services 03000 200 190
