About this Event

Join us on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November for the 7th International Deep Brain Stimulation Nursing Association (DBSNA ) Virtual Conference.

The conference is being hosted by Lucy Partington-Smith and Salford Royal Foundation Trust in Manchester, and will be delivered virtually over the course of two days.

The conference will begin on Wednesday 18 November at 1.00pm-4.45pm , and will continue for a second day on Thursday 19 November from 9.30am-3.30pm.

Throughout the two days, we will be hearing from a range of speakers who are all renowned in their own right, with topics including an update on DBS research, delivering a holistic approach to DBS and a patient's experience of receiving DBS surgery.

We are also pleased to welcome sessions from Pharma companies Medtronic, Boston and Abbott on Wednesday.

Please see the images below for a copy of the final agenda, with the confirmed speakers and timings.

We really looking forward to welcoming you all to the conference and we hope you find the two days educational and inspiring.

The aims of the conference are as follows:

  • Delegates will have a greater understanding of more recent approaches to DBS surgery and the assessment and monitoring of patients throughout the DBS pathway, as well as what is happening in the world of DBS research.
  • Delegates will feel better equipped with knowledge and skills to establish or develop a DBS service. This will be achieved by learning from the experience of some senior DBS nurses at longer established services, as well as through hearing guidance on writing a business case to develop and future proof a service.
  • Delegates will develop a greater understanding and appreciation regarding the impact of DBS on patients and their relationships, and hear how a holistic approach can improve patient's wellbeing.

Joining the conference:

The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. Please go ahead and book your free ticket for the conference and we will then email you a link with the joining instructions closer to the time.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
