A Zoom online video skills group to learn and discuss Self-Soothing and the Body Scan Technique in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

About this Event

Self-Soothing and the Body Scan Technique are part of the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Distress Tolerance Module. It is doing things that feel pleasant and comforting and that can provide relief from stress or emotional pain.

The group is open to:

  • People who have completed a DBT Skills Training Group who wish to refresh their skills.
  • Those who are currently attending a DBT Skills Training Group elsewhere. (Although you might want to discuss this with your DBT Therapist)
  • People who have an interest in putting DBT Skills into practice for themselves.
  • Those who may be on a waiting list for a DBT Skills group but would like some prior understanding.

Participants: There is a maximum of 8 participants. (The group will still run if only one person joins as DBT skills can still be discussed and worked on.)

Duration: 60 minutes (1-4 Participants)  90 minutes (5-8 Participants including 5 minute break)
