Event description

Description

Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre (DCHC) gives 660 free residential holidays a year to children from Derby and Derbyshire having difficulty in daily life.

This is the 6th year for SkegVegas, our 100 mile sponsored ride from Derby to Skegness. Last year we raised £10,833, enough money to cover the direct costs of 32 children's holidays, which is a brilliant achievement. We know we can beat this!

Enjoying a new improved route, and starting from Derby Arena on Saturday 19th May 2018 at 7.30am, with your help we can make this the most successful SkegVegas 100 yet!

Registering to ride is easy - all that is required is your name, mobile number, address and emergency contact details. It's free to enter, we just ask that you try and raise as much as you can through sponsorship.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

As long as you can cycle 100 miles and own a roadworthy bike, you can enter. Please be aware that support along the route is limited, and will mainly consist of DCHC volunteers who have given up their time for the charity.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

For supporting families - Derby Arena have reserved 100 parking spaces for SkegVegas support. The car park barriers will be up. Arena parking tickets will not be required for this special event.

For cyclists - With regard to the return journey, some cyclists ride back to Derby on the same day, others stay overnight in our specially reserved hotel (The Savoy, North Parade PE25 2UB), then either cycle home on the Sunday or are driven home by family - there are family rooms available at the hotel, please be aware though that parking spaces are limited. It is possible to catch the train home and take your bike back that way - bike storage space is limited on trains, however. There may be a possibility that we can transport bikes back for a small fee, however, this has yet to be arranged.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
