About this event

We're looking for up to 12 volunteers to join us at Duke's Wood, near St Catherine's, on Sunday 12 May at 10am. Our priority will be to build new dead hedges and cut back brambles and ivy where it has started to take over the tree crowns.

Deadwood is full of nutrients and provides an ideal habitat for hundreds of species of local birds, insects, mammals and more.

If you're interested in trees and care about biodiversity, or just fancy getting out into the fresh air for a few hours' gentle exercise on a spring morning, we'd love you to join us.

Parking is available in the lifeboat car park opposite (Route de Ste Catherine).

You can sign up here if you're interested in attending.

If you have any problems finding us on the day, please call Alex on 07797 774676.

For those joining us, please bear in mind the following:

- You must complete a volunteer working agreement before attending (link in confirmation email)

- You may get wet feet if there has been a lot of rain; if so, wear waterproof footwear

- You may get tired, so don’t push yourself too hard; take it at your own pace

- Bring snacks and drinks to maintain energy levels

- If it's sunny, wear sunscreen

- We provide all equipment but please bring gloves suitable for touching brambles

- Have fun!

Dont't forget you can follow our socials or register as a volunteer on our website if you'd like to keep up to date with Jersey Trees for Life volunteering opportunities.
