We're looking for a group of volunteers to join us at La Moye Woodland (next to where the Railway Walk crosses Rue de la Sergente) on Thursday 23 October at 9.30am. Our priority on the day will be to continue extending the dead hedge built this year by volunteers from Greening Jersey.
Deadwood is full of nutrients and provides an ideal habitat for hundreds of species of local birds, insects, mammals and more.
If you're interested in trees and care about biodiversity, or just fancy getting out into the fresh air for a few hours' gentle exercise on a spring morning, we'd love you to join us.
We'll meet at 9.30am across the road at Les Creux, where ample parking is available.
You can sign up here if you're interested in attending.
If you have any problems finding us on the day, please call Alex on 07797 774676.
For those joining us, please bear in mind the following:
- You must complete a volunteer working agreement before attending (link in confirmation email)
- You may get wet feet if there has been a lot of rain; if so, wear waterproof footwear
- You may get tired, so don’t push yourself too hard; take it at your own pace
- Bring snacks and drinks to maintain energy levels
- If it's sunny, wear sunscreen
- We provide all equipment but please bring gloves suitable for touching brambles etc
- Have fun!
Dont't forget you can follow our socials or register as a volunteer on our website if you'd like to keep up to date with Jersey Trees for Life volunteering opportunities.
