After the success of our summer workshop for young deaf people, Deaf History Scotland and Solar Bear are excited to bring this unique experience back for the autumn—now open to deaf people of all ages.

What’s Happening?

Morning Walking Tour: Join deaf heritage expert Lilian Lawson for a guided walk through Glasgow city centre. Discover landmarks and hidden stories connected to Scotland’s deaf history—places you might pass every day without knowing their significance. You’ll have opportunities along the way to note ideas or sketch quick impressions, gathering inspiration for the afternoon session. This isn’t just a history lesson—it’s about bringing the past to life through creativity.

Afternoon Art Workshop: After lunch, artist Greer Pester leads a hands-on creative workshop. Using what you’ve discovered on the tour, you’ll create your own artwork celebrating Glasgow’s deaf heritage.

Who Can Take Part?

This event is open to deaf people of all ages. All skill levels are welcome—no previous art experience needed.
