Event description

Description

After the great success of last year’s annual conference and the overwhelmingly positive feedback, we are happy to announce the date of our 2019 conference.

Our 2019 annual conference will focus on the emotional health and wellbeing of deaf children and young people. We will deliver a variety of workshops suitable for a range of professionals working with deaf children and young people from early years up to post-16. Like last year, deaf young people will play a central role in the conference, enabling guests to hear from them directly.

Conference Description

Our conference will bring together leaders and practitioners to share and discuss the challenges for Deaf Children and Young People regarding emotional health and wellbeing, and the latest approaches professionals can use to support them. You’ll leave with an improved understanding of the support that is needed from early years up to post 16 settings. The programme is organised around a cluster of themes, and aims to present a range of ideas for supporting deaf children and young people and best-practice examples. Speakers will tell you about the policy landscape, specialist support that’s available, research on resilience, self-harm and social media plus more.
Our conference aims to stimulate discussion between like-minded professionals to promote sharing of insight about the support that deaf children and young people need and what is available.
