Description

Dealing with Difficult People
With Gen Kelsang Gomchen

“The person who is a problem to the non-accepting mind, does not exist within the calm, spacious mind of patient acceptance.” – Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Let’s face it, everyone has someone in their life they find it difficult to be around. Whether it be a challenging work colleague or boss, a disagreeable partner or an opinionated family member. These strained relationships can often weigh down on us over time, leaving us stressed and frustrated - as well as leading to disharmony both at work and at home.

On a deeper level, if we are forever blaming other people and situations for our unhappiness, then we are unable to see clearly the mental habit patterns that are keeping us trapped in our present unhappiness and are bound to experience tense relationships whoever we are with.

By using Buddha’s teachings on training the mind, we can challenge our ordinary way of viewing things, come to develop a more positive and realistic approach to those people we find challenging and eventually even learn to regard them with love and affection!
