Event Details

From only £149 + VAT : Full day of training, including lunch, template document pack, and optional post-course HR support.

There has recently been much media coverage concerning both sexual harassment both in and outside of the workplace. This course will show you the practical steps that can be taken to ensure a business culture that rejects sexual harassment and victimisation, and so lays the groundwork to tackle behavioural issues which may underpin discrimination.

Our practical and highly interactive workshop focuses on what to do, as opposed to what not to do, with a specific focus on developing the skills required to challenge inappropriate workplace behaviours in a non-threatening and non-judgemental manner.

Learn how to…

  • understand sexual harassment and victimisation
  • understand what is and is not acceptable behaviour in the workplace
  • navigate work-related events and understand employer’s vicarious liability
  • deal with online sexual harassment and social media
  • manage a complaint of sexual harassment or sexual assault
  • give and receive constructive feedback about inappropriate behaviour in the workplace
  • listen to complaints of sexual harassment without being dismissive
  • openly discuss inappropriate sexual behaviours
  • disrupt or intervene appropriately when sexual harassment is in progress

Optional post-course HR support

The ‘course+support’ fee also includes up to 2 hours of email or phone support, valid for up to 6 months after your training.

On your return to the workplace, we’ll help you become confident in using your training to solve real world problems by providing you with a support hotline so that you have a sounding board to check your thinking until you’re fully up to speed. A team of 5 experienced and qualified HR consultants will be on-hand to help you.

FREE lunch & refreshments included

We’ve got some great local catering establishments nearby, so lunch from one of these is included in your course fee. And there will be tea, coffee, and cold drinks available on tap throughout the day

We’re happy to do everything we can to accommodate any particular dietary or other requirements, so please let us know of these in advance.

No-quibble money-back guarantee

We’re so confident about the quality of our courses, and the business value that they provide, that we offer a no-quibble money-back guarantee. If you don’t think the training was worth it, we’ll give you your money back. No fuss, no debates, no arguments. Just ask. Simple as that.

Trainer

Your trainer Sarah Loates is a highly qualified HR practitioner, with over 20 years of experience dealing with HR and employment law issues, within both owner managed SMEs and large multinational corporations. In addition to delivering training, she also continues to provide client advice on more complex HR cases.

As a result, she is able to bring theory to life with numerous interesting real-world examples, and show you the best ways to effectively deal with the types of tricky HR and employment law issues that you’re actually likely to face in practice. And since Sarah is a current CIPD trainer, and has also taught at several local universities, she knows how to deliver engaging courses that fully involve participants through practical exercises, case studies, and Q&A sessions. No ‘death by PowerPoint’ here.

Network

To ensure you receive maximum attention from our knowledgeable facilitators, this open course is limited to 6 delegates. And since you will be taught in small friendly groups in a relaxed environment, it also gives you the opportunity to network with like-minded business professionals from a variety of other industry backgrounds.

Location

This course will take place in our in-house training room, at our Derby city centre offices.
