Join us from from 1.45pm for refreshments . Critic and memoirist Graham Caveney (The Boy with the Perpetual Nervousness) whose On Agoraphobia is published on April 28th, will introduce the event and interview David, who will also read from the new novel and take questions from the audience.
David Belbin has published more than fifty novels, including the Nottingham set YA series, The Beat, The Pretender, Love Lessons and Student. He teaches on NTU's MA in Creative Writing. He led Nottingham's successful bid to become a UNESCO City of Literature, and recently stepped down as chair of the NUCoL board. His new novel, set during the 2001 General Election is about the unexplained death of an Asian dentist and has scenes set in and near Basford. Nick Cane is suspected of murder while Sarah Bone MP seems set to lose her seat. An Investigative journalist is determined to get to the bottom of the connection between the two.
Basford Library is easy to find. The 68 and 69 buses from the Victoria Centre stop right outside. Trams go every seven minutes to and from David Lane (a two minute walk) or Basford (four minute walk). Take Hucknall or Phoenix Park trams from the city.
