Death into Dying - The 9th Lewis-Manning Conference: Thursday 6th October, Vitality Stadium, AFC Bournemouth
This conference is of special interest for health care professionals, patients, carers, and anyone interested in end of life issues.
A message from the CEO – Elizabeth Purcell
I started these Lewis-Manning conferences to allow us all an uninterrupted consideration of some of the issues that are faced and indeed those that will become challenges in the years to come that are particular to health care professionals, carers and indeed patients.
Lewis-Manning has for nearly 25 years offered the highest standards of care for people living with cancer and other life limiting illnesses such as Parkinson’s disease and Motor Neurone Disease. This voluntary hospice works closely with other health care professionals to ensure that the “hospice approach” is offered to the right patient, at the right time, in the right place – a community hospice. For patients from diagnosis through to end of life, however long or short a time that might be.
Our key note speaker, Professor Karol Sikora (also a Lewis-Manning Patron) will be speaking on “Living with the Uncertainty of Cancer”, which has resonance for all of us working in cancer and palliative care.
Professor Karol Sikora - Key Note Speaker
Fiona Castle OBE - Reflecting on her care of her late husband Roy Castle
Elizabeth Purcell - A societal response to the uncertainty of cancer
The ticket price includes entry to the conference, tea, coffee and pastries on arrival and lunch.
