Looking for free, high-quality materials to support the revised SQA Migration and Empire History module?

The updated course now asks teachers to explore the impact of Scots settlers - not just their contribution. But who was impacted, and how should that shift our approach in the classroom?

Developed by the University of Stirling in collaboration with History teachers across Scotland, and supported by the Scottish Government, this brand-new resource pack includes 15 ready-to-use lessons exploring the impact of Scots on Indigenous peoples, cultures and lands in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Led by Scotdec and the project team, this CLPL session will introduce the thinking behind the resources and provide practical guidance for using them in your own setting. You'll meet the teachers and academics behind the project, and receive tailored examples connected to your local context to help you bring these global stories into meaningful local learning.
