About The Event

If you're a millennial in Manchester who is keen to broaden your social circle, join us to chat about books and share recommendations!

Time and Location: Tuesday, 9th September from 6pm to 7.30pm

Millennial Moment creates events specifically for millennials who are looking for meaningful social connections outside of work or their usual circles. Whether you are feeling a bit disconnected from your old routines, you’ve recently moved to Manchester, or just want to meet new people in a way that doesn’t feel forced, our events offer a laid-back, inclusive space to show up as you are.

This “deconstructed book club” is a book club with a twist. It’s all about conversation and connection, not everyone reading the same book.

Here’s how it works:

• Bring whatever you’re currently reading - fiction, nonfiction, poetry, even a graphic novel.
• We’ll start with a quick icebreaker so everyone gets to meet each other.
• Then we'll settle in for about 30 minutes of quiet reading time where you'll read your own book.
• After that, we’ll come together to share a little about what we’ve been reading. You’ll get to hear what others are enjoying, swap recommendations, and discover new reads you might never have picked up otherwise.

It’s all about good company, good stories, and good conversation.

A few nibbles will be provided. This is the perfect way to meet people your age and broaden your social circle!

And don't worry about coming alone — in fact, we actively encourage it! You'll be in good company and will likely have a few new friends by the end of the event!

The event will take place come rain or shine and tickets are non-refundable.

Who This Is For

Millennials (that means people born between 1981 and 1996) who are looking for meaningful social connections outside of work, dating apps, or their usual circles.

What To Expect

• People your age who are interested in meeting new people
• A friendly host to greet you and facilitate the event
• A relaxed book chat - no pre-reading necessary
• An inclusive space where all backgrounds and identities are welcomed 🌈
• An email the day before with all the details including how exactly to find us

About the founder:

Hi, I'm Camara! I moved to Manchester this year, and whilst I LOVE the city, I quickly realised that it can be tricky to find friends, especially ones who are around my age. So I created Millennial Moment to help connect people (like me) who are looking to expand their social circles in a chilled, relaxed environment. When I'm not organising events, you can find me on my yoga mat perfecting my Warrior II pose, on the search for the city's best donut, or planning my next holiday!
