Description

The IDE and University of Wolverhampton present: Modern Building Materials Seminar; How Can We Recycle Them in 20 Years? And IDE Regional Meeting

The purpose of this event is to bring together key stakeholders in the built environment to look at the issue of deconstruction and the reuse of modern materials.

The initial session will be followed by the IDE Regional Meeting which non-members are welcome to attend.

13:20 Seminar commences with panel led discussion chaired by Dr Paul Hampton (Wolverhampton University) and hosted by Howard Button FIDE the CRO of NFDC and Richard Dolman FIDE.

13:50 Aston Fuller, FISSAC Project Officer with British Glass, FISSAC: Fostering industrial symbiosis in construction – Flat Glass and post-consumer recycling:

A presentation of the work carried out by British Glass – the UK trade body for the glass industry and Arup. This session will provide a background of the current and future potential for recycling post-consumer flat glass waste along with information about the systems and schemes in place to recycle flat glass across the UK and Europe. Discussions will centre around the way in which designers and architects are approaching glazing systems to increase recyclability in the future and how the construction sector can change practices today to increase recycling rates of flat glass

14:05 Justin Furness, Technical Director for Council for Aluminium in Building, Aluminium Closed Loop Recycling in the UK Construction Sector - CAB Pilot Scheme

14:20 Round table discussion and feedback with groups drawn from architects, major contractors, suppliers and the waste industry.

15:30 Seminar concludes followed by refreshments

16:00 IDE Regional Meeting Registration

16:20 Meeting commences with presentations from professionals involved
with major recycling projects

Getting there

The Molineux has a large car park and you will be provided with a parking pass before you arrive.

The Molineux is easily accessible by public transport. It is located a 15 minute walk from both Wolverhampton Train Station and Wolverhampton Bus Station.
