The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland launches its Dedicated Mechanism Annual Report

NIHRC & ECNI would like to invite you to the launch of their first annual report on the work of the two organisations as the ‘dedicated mechanism’. This is a new statutory role taken on by the two Commissions in January 2021 to oversee the UK Government’s commitment under Article 2 of the Ireland/NI Protocol, to ensure no diminution of certain rights, safeguards and equality protections as a result of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.
Remarks from NIHRC Chief Commissioner Alyson Kilpatrick and ECNI Chief Commissioner, Geraldine McGahey, will be followed by discussion and refreshments.
The event will provide an overview of the work undertaken, key recommendations and resulting workstreams.
