Deep Focus: Indescribable Feelings - Imprints

Deep Focus: Indescribable Feelings - Imprints

By Deep Focus

Overview

Deep Focus is a periodic screening event that supports artists working with moving image.

Deep Focus 'Indescribable Feelings: Imprints' will be held at the cinema within Goldsmiths, which is found just after Cafe Thirty-Five on the right-hand corridor of the Richard Hoggart Building.

It is a continuation of the theme 'Indescribable Feelings'.

First impressions, leaving a mark, films more concerned with direct experience and sensations, a sensorial response to a stimulus, more primordial in some ways, all the way to the (failed) attempt at controlling one’s feelings, controlling bodies and bodies that refuse to be controlled. ‘Imprints’ can also be related to memory, and the films in this edition of Deep Focus also deal with the primordial experience of memory, heritage and generations transmitting knowledge, traditions, stories to the next. Overall: the body’s refusal to obey the mind’s enforced control.
