Who is ENTEK?

ENTEK is a French DJ/ producer based in North London. His production features rhythm and hybrids of several musical styles such as Brokenbeat, House, hip-hop, Soul, UK garage, Jazz-fusion Afro, and many more.

Concurrent to his solo music sets across London, ENTEK champions diversity as a member of the seminal groove collective, Selectors Assemble, releasing music with the CoOp Presents label, a pillar of the broken beat UK scene.

A natural crowd-reader, ENTEK performs alongside Orii Community as part of the house band as a finger drums percussionist. He was ranked 2nd best finger drummer globally at the World Championship battle in Berlin in June 2024.

A practitioner of Qi Gong and Kung Fu, his martial arts journey encouraged him to discover the power of meditation, leading to a realisation that a gateway between music and well being could be made : as a result, Deep Listening experiences became a part of his cultural curations.

What is Deep Listening?

Deep listening is a way of perceiving and engaging with sound that goes beyond ordinary hearing. It involves merging the involuntary act of hearing with the voluntary act of listening, and expanding to the whole field of sound while finding focus.

Deep listening is an immersive, sensorial, and transformative experience that pierces the essence of a composition and its performance.

Research shows that the right music, when you listen with focus and intention, supports meaning-making, emotionality, and mental imagery – the same therapeutic processes associated with psychedelic therapy and other experiential therapies. (Barrett, Preller & Kaelen, 2018).
