About this event
Deep Rest: Yoga Nidra
Join us for a relaxing session of Yoga Nidra at Hebburn Central! (1st Floor - Yoga/Dance Studio)
This in-person event will guide you through a deep state of relaxation, helping you unwind and de-stress. Let go of tension and experience a profound sense of calm.
No prior yoga experience needed - just bring yourself and an open mind. Come ready to immerse yourself in this blissful practice and leave feeling refreshed and renewed.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Like Yoga itself, Yoga Nidra is both a process and a state. You can be in the “state
of Yoga Nidra” which is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping.
Benefits of the practice
Everyone's experience will differ but some of the know benefits are:
- Relaxation
- Tension release
- Emotional regulation
- Improved sleep
- Stress reduction
- Improved memory
- Increased creativity and clarity
I don't provide mats or other props so you may want to bring the following:
Mat - if you choose to lie down
Pillow - for extra comfort
Blanket - for even more comfort
Eye Pillow - if you would like to close off from the world for a little while
Please note the practice of Yoga Nidra can also be seated. Chairs are available in the room.
Health:
If you are currently diagnosed with any health conditions, please let us know in advance so we can discuss how best to support you.
Please know that Aroha Healing makes every effort to make our teaching trauma informed but it is down to you to take responsibility for yourself.
The Space and Setting:
The room is a quiet space, there will be periods of silence during the guidance.
The room is located on the second floor of the building in the dance/yoga studio.
The centre does have machines available for water or refreshments but it is advised you bring your own if you are able to.
Your Teacher:
Nicola Zielinski-Gray is a qualified Yoga Nidra teacher, fully insured, a member of the Guild of Holistic Therapies and the Angelic Reiki Association for the work she also does 1:1. Nicola holds over a decade of working with people in the space of health and wellness, she brought her practice from New Zealand to the UK in 2021.
Frequently asked questions
No, I don't, I rent this space and mats are not available. For your own comfort please bring your own.
Yes, it is, the building entrance has a ramp and an automatic doorway on entrance. There is a lift to take you to the first floor where the yoga/dance studio is located.
Nidra means sleep, although we are merely relaxing in a liminal place between sleep and wakefulness, if you drift off, that is ok. I gently guide the session, if you snore, I may use a tapping technique near the space where you lie to support with any distractions for your peers.
Optional things recommended are water, eye mask, pillow, bolster, cusions, blankets.
Wear comfortable clothing , usually we practice with shoes off so do bring a pair of socks in case your feet get cold.
I understand life happens and sometimes timing can not always be on your side, however for minimal distraction, I ask if you are more than 5 minutes late not to enter. I recommend arriving at least 5 minutes before we commence.
