Event description

Description

When one of our crew suggested a visit to the stylish 1940s to celebrate VE Day, how could we say no ... So we invite you to join us for a step back in time, including 1940s movie night, dance lessons, and The Daisy Belles in concert.

The programme will be added to over the next few weeks, however here is the provisional timetable for the weekend.

Friday Evening

1940s Movie Night, where we’ll show two 1940s related films.
We hope we’ll be showing these films on our big screen in the barracks courtyard (backpackers hostel courtyard), but in the case of inclement weather we’ll head indoors to the Brick Barn.
Please bring your own seats, or arrive early to grab a bench (or possibly a sofa).
We’ll be holding an online vote shortly to decide which films we’ll show, so watch our Facebook page for details.

Saturday

We are looking forward to welcoming re-enactors, with static displays, weapons displays and living history street theatre. These passionate history fans from various re-enactment groups will be entertaining and informing.

In the afternoon and early evening, enjoy Dance Lessons with Andy from Jump Jive & Swing.

At midday there will be a Skirmish Battle above Woodview, which you are welcome to watch, as a small troop of German troops try to overrun the defences of the Allies stationed at Deepdale.

Time Travelling Tea Party will be serving Afternoon Tea* in the barracks courtyard (backpackers hostel courtyard)

The 1940s Puzzle Room will be open for groups to test their puzzle solving skills, throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

At 4pm the German troops will try again, with a Skirmish Battle above Woodview, which you are welcome to watch.

Have your hair and make-up done by Hairaid Shelter*.

And the headlining event of the day is The Daisy Belles in concert on the main stage in the Brick Barn.

During the evening Time Travelling Tea Party will be serving Pie & Mash*.

More will be added to the programme over the next few weeks, so watch this space for more information.
