About this event

Welcome to take a short break from our busy lifestyles, social media, work, home admin and worries! Be guided by the sound into moments of stillness, allowing you to sink into a deeply relaxed state, enabling balance to be restored naturally to your mind and body. Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Highly resonant instruments used will include gongs, metal and crystal singing bowls, which are carefully chosen and are scientifically proven to have positive effects on blood, health and wellbeing.

All you have to do is get cosy and comfortable, usually lying down or sitting if you wish, close your eyes and allow the sound to do the rest.

No prior experience necessary. Suitable for all levels.

Spaces are limited to ensure everyone has plenty of space to feel at ease.

Regular sound immersions help to overcome stress, tension, improve sleep, clear blockages and achieve balance. Every sonic immersion is different – you may feel deeply rested, invigorated, more creative and imaginative, and may have drifted off without even realising. Participants often feel calmer, more focused, and sleep better after bathing in sound.

The session is facilitated by Janet, a 200-hour qualified NAAD Yoga of Sound Meditation Teacher and member of the Yoga Alliance, whose mission is to share the benefits of sound in the community in an accessible way. www.malletandgong.studio

Welcome

Do arrive 5-10 minutes ealier to get settled so we can start on time and have a full hour of sounds. Doors open from 18.45 for a 19.00hrs start.

Remember to bring a yoga/sleep mat and blanket. Or hire a yoga/sleep mat and blanket for the session. A limited number are available if booked in advance as an "add on".

Feel free to bring whatever you want to be comfortable, including pillow and cushion/bolster for under your knees if you wish, eye mask /scarf. You can also be seated, if you prefer. If the weather is cold, please bring extra blankets/warm clothing as the heating in the hall can be variable.

Please be mindful of others and refrain from bringing noisy items, such as foil space blankets.

Minimum recommended age for this session 16 years but every one is different.

NOTE: This session is not suitable for people with pacemakers and other therapeutic electronic devices, anyone who suffers from fits, persons suffering from severe mental health issues or anyone who is extremely sensitive to sound. This session is not recommended for women in the first trimester of pregnancy. If you wear a hearing aid, you may wish to turn it off during the session. Please seek advice from your GP if you have any concerns prior to attending.
