Deep Truth

An exhibition by Yazan Nasrallah
Wednesday 29 October 2025 | 5:00–8:00 pm
St James’ Church, New Cross Road, London SE14 6AD

Join us at St. James' Hatcham Church (New Cross, London) for a thought-provoking event exploring the complexities of the face image. Through film, installation, and Al-generated imagery, this exhibition investigates how the face continues to shape us today -ethically, politically, and affectively

It explores what it means to undo the face through creative strategies of resistance, using Al to reimagine the face not as a form of representation but as a zone of sensation. At the same time, it asks whether the face might undo itself from within through the phenomenon of deepfakes, questioning whether the erosion of trust in images might, paradoxically, reveal deep-truth about the face as a construct surface.

Free entry - please RSVP via Eventbrite.

About the Artist

Yazan Nasrallah is a Palestinian researcher and creative technologist, born to a displaced family from Jerusalem. His father, Mohammad Nasrallah, a renowned artist, influenced his creative and political sensibilities.

Trained in architecture, Yazan focused on the Palestinian cause and the right of return, themes that continue to underpin his practice today. He later completed a Master’s in Visual Effects at the University of Kent, before joining Goldsmiths, University of London, to pursue a practice-based PhD.

His research is informed by ongoing political and technological transformations, continually shaped by the shifting conditions of the world around him. Meanwhile, Yazan continues to reflect on what it means to be a Palestinian researcher during a time of genocide.

Yazan is also Lead Project Producer at Autograph, a London-based charity, where he co-produces socially engaged art projects with artists and communities, focusing on identity, representation, and social justice.
