This workshop will provide candidates with hands on practical experience of best practice gralloching techniques, with tuition from industry experts on carcass inspection, handling and optimal hygiene practice.

Target audience - Beginner/ Intermediate level stalkers, i.e. those with some experience of deer stalking, who have possibly completed DSC1 and are looking to start DSC2 or those who have started DSC2 and are wishing to gain more experience and knowledge

We will be meeting at Donington Park Farmhouse.

Hot drinks provided on arrival.

Packed lunches are required by attendees.

The day will include a talk from BASC Regional Officer - Matt Dutton.

Followed by demonstrations and hands on workshops in carcass inspection, gralloching, lardering a carcass and then butchery into prime cuts.

Each attendee will take away some venison at the end of the day.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring any equipment etc. to the event?

Attendees need to bring a packed lunch with them, although hot drinks will be available on the day. We also recommend that you wear suitable clothing that can get dirty/ bloody and sturdy outdoor footwear.
