Wed 14 June 2017, 09:00 – 17:00 BST
This timely and significant round table is keynoted by the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP Secretary of State for Trade. It brings together an impressive group of industry leaders, top officials, trade and technology experts and investors to look at how the UK can maximise its defence and security export opportunities after it leaves the EU.
The occasion offers the opportunity for an explanation of Government objectives in the defence and security export space and provides industry with a tailor made occasion to articulate it visions and action plans in a sector where the UK simply has to succeed if British prosperity is to be secured after Brexit.
The defence and trade departments faces major challenges as the UK plans its future. Industrial regeneration, innovation, the skills base and the investment climate are also of maximum importance and the government aspects of these as well as relevant business assessments are a vital part of this agenda. The Prime Minister has opted for change in economic strategy but the limitations of austerity have not gone away. How can the UK shape a bold new approach as it looks to an independent economic future?
