Defending Our Libraries: A Gathering to Celebrate the Day of Action
Event Information
About this Event
On November 28th, Save our Libraries campaigners and Living Rent members will run a Day of Action to protest 40 weeks since our libraries have been closed. Let’s come together in the evening for an hour of readings, discussion and protest via Zoom. All welcome!
The libraries are an essential space, making reading and information accessible to the local community. They are one of the only indoor public spaces we have available to all. The future of the libraries in Glasgow’s Southside have been jeopardised by COVID-19: We want to defend our libraries, and assure their safe and definite reopening.
This event will feature readings from Glasgow-based writers Caspar Heinemann, Gloria Dawson, and Shola von Reinhold, and include speakers from the Save Our Libraries campaign and Living Rent members. It will be an opportunity to come together and celebrate the day of action.
Closed captions will be available for this event.
