Defining place-based retrofit: key elements and case studies
Overview
Place-based approaches to retrofit and renovation are increasingly gaining interest as policy makers, advocates and practitioners looking to scale the rollout of energy efficiency and decarbonisation, provide wider community benefit and find innovative investment approaches.
But a question keeps re-occurring: what is place-based retrofit, and what might it involve?
This webinar is People Powered Retrofit’s contribution to these discussions, a summary of research collected through involvement in UK networks such as National Retrofit Hub and European networks such as EU Peers.
We’ve examined case studies and spoken to the policy makers and practitioners innovating new approaches.
We’ve also gained a huge amount of learning through working with our community energy partners Carbon Co-op who delivered a place-based pilot scheme of five homes in South Manchester, with a unique partnering contract and innovative finance product from Manchester City Council.
This webinar will:
- Set out some key benefits of place-based schemes
- Set out the four pillars needed to realise these
- Illustrate this with case studies
- Make a recommendation on enabling actions
Who is this for:
- Policy makers
- Community Retrofit Practitioners
- Councils and local authorities
- Think Tanks
- Finance providers
- Anyone with an interest in place-based retrofit
