Strangers in the City presents: Defying Gravity with Strangers
To celebrate the 19th anniversary of the London stage production Wicked, we’re delighted to invite you to experience the Emerald City with Strangers. A perfect chance to meet new friends (perhaps some that might change you for the better) and watch one of London’s most iconic West End shows.
First, join us at The Clermont, Victoria for their wicked-ly good afternoon tea. Led by the Strangers in the City team, there will be some ice-breaker games and activities to help you make some new connections. Then it will be time to tuck in to some scones, finger sandwiches and a cocktail, before heading to the Apollo Victoria to catch the 2.30pm performance of Wicked.
Many of us know the famous tale of the Wizard of Oz - where Dorothy triumphs over the supposedly evil Wicked Witch of the West. Wicked explores the other side of the story. An unlikely friendship develops between two young women. Glinda, the blonde, popular girl. Elphaba, the green girl, a misunderstood social outcast. Together they embark on a remarkable journey, with challenges they couldn’t have comprehended when they began.
Critics have called it “one of the greatest musicals of our time” (WhatsOnStage) and “an absolute blast” (Guardian) - one thing is for sure - you don’t want to miss this. Whether you’re a Wicked fanatic or a newbie to the West-End, we’d be delighted to have you with us for this trip to Oz.
