Delivering 70:20:10 learning through a changing digital learning landscape
Not everyone shares the enthusiasm for learning technology that the marketeers would have us believe. With the pace of change at a unprecedented level, and set to increase, HR and L&D professionals can be forgiven for feeling a tad overwhelmed and mistaking their ARs for their LRS. Not just that it’s all put pressure on the 70:20:10 learning model (as if that wasn’t being challenged enough). The recent Towards Maturity research found that despite 90% of staff saying they prefer to learn from their peers currently only 47% of L&D professionals are using this model. In this interactive session we’ll take a look at the digital learning landscape not just in terms of some examples of the learning tech that is available now and how it can be used within the 70:20:10 model but some of the other considerations we need to make for L&D to be fit for the future. As well as looking at what else is on the development table and understanding more about the role we have as professionals in shaping the ‘what happens next?’
Our guest speaker is Hazel Langley MCIPD. Hazel is an L&D specialist who was commissioning interactive content in 2001 and designing blendable CBT programmes in the late 1990’s. Now running, Induction Junction, the UK’s only impartial digital learning brokerage service, Hazel enjoys de-mystifying business owners, HR and L&D professionals about current and emerging learning technologies and how they can be used to engage learners. Hazel has recently spoken, at the request of Lego Education, to their HR and ELearning Symposium in Denmark on the Future of Elearning and was sponsored by the Department for International Trade to have a presence at the leading educational technology show BETT 2017.
