Delivering a Convincing Research Presentation

In this second workshop focussing on presentation skills, we will focus more on the preparation and delivery of the talk, from consideration of good practice in slide presentation to the actual presentation. While our main focus will be on conventional presentations, we will also consider the adaptions necessary when delivering online.

During the workshop we will focus on issues such as

• How to display text, images and other results effectively in visual aids

• Good practice for speech, body language and time management in delivery

• Ways to manage 'presentation nerves'

• Techniques to manage the questions following the presentation.

We will use small group breakouts to help you share ideas and discuss ways to improve your own techniques.
