Delivering Academic Presentations

This half day session offers practise in presentation skills to a small friendly audience in a supportive and friendly environment. You will gain constructive feedback through a facilitated discussion that will also cover the issues participants will face in formal presentations and each presentation is videoed to help you review your own performance.

Note this is a small group workshop and has a limited number of places.

Specifically this workshop offers

- Practice in the delivery of a short presentation to those outside our research field.
- An opportunity to view your own performance and observe how you appear to your audience
- Constructive feedback on both the positive aspects of your delivery and suggestions for how you might improve for both the audience present and in more formal settings.
- A chance to view other presentations from different subject areas and practise in feedback delivery.

Preparation: to participate in this session you will need to prepare a 5 minute presentation that is delivered at the workshop. You will gain most benefit from this workshop if you have completed several months research and are preparing to present your work to colleagues. You will not need to present research findings or results in your presentation.


Registration: You are recommended to use your University of Liverpool email to register on Eventbrite and then the calendar invitation will be added to your University calendar. We reserve the right to remove registrations of attendees who do not appear to be members of this University.
