Let’s Get Curious – Delivering Awe & Wonder

For: EYFS Schools*

*Teaching Assistants and Teachers working in the foundation stage in schools in Leicestershire

All courses are being offered at a highly subsidised rate to acknowledge and support your current potential financial issues due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Ticket prices will vary for each course/event depending on trainers cost.

Delivery Information:-

This course will take place via Zoom Video Conferencing, learners will be provided with support, instructions and a link to join the course. All learners will be expected to attend by video call as standard, with cameras on during the whole of the course delivery. Courses are interactive so please expect to contribute and take part in full. Zoom is accessible on PCs, tablets and smartphones.

Live Training Event - Thursday 3rd December 2020 from 10am - 12noon

This Lets get Curious course is designed to support and enthuse teachers and practitioners to deliver an inspirational experience for children, using natural and authentic materials. This course specifically looks at how we can deliver awe & wonder and curious learning. The Schools Inspection Handbook states: “children demonstrate their attitudes and behaviors through the key characteristics of effective learning: - playing and exploring – active learning – creative thinking and thinking critically”.

Natural and authentic resources provide a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about the awe and wonder of the world and supports their creativity and critical thinking. This course examines how to create a highly curious and engaging learning environment with child accessible resources and how to support teachers and practitioners to get the individualised learning for each child from it.

This course has been prepared to help you support the children in your care with consideration of the current Covid-19 pandemic and its restrictions.

Course aims and objectives:-

• To recognise the importance of developing curious learners in our schools

• The steps needed to develop Awe & Wonder in your school

• To learn more about curious resources

• To learn how to get the best out of your curious environment
