Description

Delivering Better Governance in Changing Times

Opening up the secret garden

Transform Governance Better Governance Summit

9.15am – 4.30pm, Tuesday 4th June 2019

Open University, Milton Keynes

Target audience: Board Members, Governance Professionals and Senior Leaders across the sectors

Across the sectors governance continues to present as one of the key challenges of our time.

From Carillion to Kids Company, from RBS to BHS, from Oxfam to Volkswagen, and from Rochdale to Windrush, governance presents itself as a pervasive theme. In short, governance is a key element in the success or failure of any organisation.

And yet governance literacy beyond the Boardroom is typically weak, diversity is often at best superficial and opportunities to share practice across the sectors are rare.

At this first Transform Governance Better Governance Summit, delivered in partnership with the Open University in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 4th June,we’ll be bringing together almost 200 leading thinkers, researchers and practitioners and a range of influential expert speakers to explore the definitions and challenges of governance, whatever the setting.

Whatever your role in supporting or delivering great governance, this is an outstanding Professional Development Opportunity, and a chance to play a role in shaping and informing the all-sector Better Governance Commission to be launched later this year.

How we govern our corporations, our charities and our public services - including our schools, hospitals and community facilities - is too important to be left to chance.
