Event description

Description

This complimentary event will explore how commissioners and providers can work together to implement the devolution agenda in areas such as health, social care, children’s services, libraries and skills. The prize is significant: more locally tailored, joined-up and effective services. The challenge is how to deliver on this promise in practice.

Designed for leaders, commissioners and providers of public services in the South West, this event will explore a range of questions including:

  • How is devolution driving public service reform and what opportunities is it bringing?
  • How will the integration of health and social care work in practice?
  • Which delivery models are suitable for devolution and what lessons can we draw from their use to date?
  • How can redesigning services improve outcomes? Examples from libraries and adult education.
  • What are the opportunities for commissioners and providers in re-envisaging service provision and new markets?
  • How can providers respond to the changing commissioning landscape?

Speakers will include:

  • Phil Norrey – Chief Executive, Devon County Council
  • Trevor Doughty – Strategic Director Children, Families and Adults, Cornwall Council
  • Julie Dent CBE – Chair, Devon Partnership NHS Trust and Libraries Unlimited
  • Melanie Walker - Chief Executive, Devon Partnership NHS Trust and Chair, DYS Space
  • Jonathan Lindley – Mutuals Programme Director, Office for Civil Society
  • Nick Temple – Deputy CEO, Social Enterprise UK
  • Scott Darraugh – CEO, Social adVentures
  • Ciara Eastell – CEO, Libraries Unlimited
